SENATOR ZIEN PUTS OUT A CALL FOR CALLING CARDS
NCOM, January 3, 1997 -- If you've ever had the privilege of hearing Wisconsin State Senator Dave Zien speak at an NCOM Convention or other motorcycle event, you know he often asks for calling cards from bikers rights activists - signed on the front - for his collection. Several thousand cards now adorn his State Capital Office in Madison, Wisconsin, as well as his distrinct office in Chippewa Falls and his home in Eau Claire.
"Each signed card has a special significance - Freedom Fighters from across America depicting pride and variety," said Senator Zien.
Senator Zien is well known for his extensive travels on his 214,000 mile 1991 FXRT Harley, American flag waving behind him. He has attended NCOM Conventions and Regional Meetings in Tulsa, Oklahoma; Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; Minneapolis, Minnesota; Albuquerque, New Mexico; and in Spearfish and Sturgis, South Dakota. Senator Zien is a long time member of the National Coalition of Motorcyclists' Legislative Task Force, and has ridden to a number of state capitals on behalf of NCOM, testifying and assisting the lobbying efforts of state motorcycle rights organizations and local biker activists.
Senator Zien has made card displays for the National Motorcycle Museum Hall of Fame from the attendees of the '96 annual meeting in Spearfish, S.D., and the Governor Thompson '95 and ~96 motorcycle rides in Wisconsin
"I would be honored to have your signed card in my display. It will be cherished by all who view it," said Zien. "Reviewing these cards builds awareness and increases education."
In fact, Zien plans to arrange a special display just from those motorcyclists responding to this article. To be a part of this historic record, please sign the front of your calling card and send it promptly to:
